Good Evening Madera,
Many of you may already know this but we have a new class holding the number one spot in our membership drive. Congratulations to the 3rd graders in Mrs. Borth’s class. They are in the lead with 146.67%. Following close behind is Mrs. Robison’s 1 grade class with 131.82%, with Mrs. Sinclair’s 5th grade class in third place with 110.71% and finally in fourth with an impressive 106.90% is another 5th grade class headed by Mrs. Peterson & Mrs. Byron. Great job Madera…way to go!!!! But don’t worry because our membership team has extended the competition until December 10th. So those of you who are so close to that 100% mark keep turning in those memberships and you too can join in the fun at our ‘Super Bowl’ party in January. With that said, our total membership as of today is 369 members strong. WOW!!!! We only need 100 more to reach 100% school-wide. So thank you everyone for supporting the PTA, but mostly for supporting our children’s futures.
Next I would like for you to know that the room parents and art docents for your children’s classes have met with the PTA to get valuable information that they will be sharing with you. They will be sending home information regarding the Harvest Festival and other things. Please look for those letters to come home with-in the next week. You art docents will also need help putting together a special art project that will be auctioned off at the Harvest Festival. If you are available to help one day with that, please let your teacher or art docent know.
Tomorrow our music program begins with an assembly performed by Mr. Craig Newton. Then next Wednesday Mr. Newton will begin musical instructions for every grade level. If you have time to swing by tomorrow, then please do so and check it out.
Finally, our librarian, Mrs. McDonald, is asking for anyone that would be willing to come and help in the library on Tuesdays. Whatever time you can spare that day would be greatly appreciated. About 10 classes go to the library on Tuesdays. Perhaps it’s your child’s class that visits on that day and maybe then you could come and help out. For more information, please contact me or the librarian. She is on campus Tuesdays and Fridays.
Thank you so much and have a fabulous rest of the week.
Many thanks,
Liz Hernandez
Madera PTA President
